There is a crop of young players already making their mark at United. Sir Alex Ferguson sings their praises.
Over the last three years we have taken on youngsters from across the world.
We've got two at Antwerp, Gerard Pique from Barcelona, Giuseppe Rossi from Parma.
Also players from Denmark and Sweden.
What we're trying to do is identify and bring the best young players to this club.
Jonathan Spector, for example, is a typical product of American football.
He is athletic, quick and has a winning mentality.
As a defender he recognises danger very well which is great to see in a young defender.
And if he improves technically I think he's got all the other things to progress.
American football is developing at a
fast rate. It's a massive country and makes it difficult to have a
national league to fulfil the avenues for young players.
So many players who do well have to go to Europe.
It's still early for America.
But maybe in 20 years time if the leagues are more substantial they'll have better teams internationally.
